And on the other side, Graticules 1/2 degree apart, and 1/2, 1 and 1 1/2 degrees high. They have the crosses which I believe indicates they are a decommissioned British military item. The original leather strap is still attached, showing the expected signs of a lifetime of wear. There is wear and chipping to the paint on the binoculars, again showing their true age. The carry case is missing the buckle part which keeps it closed, but it is a lovely items in itself, with a beautiful patina to the leather and authentic scratches from use!
It reads Case No 3, Mark II Prismatic Binocular. These came from the family of the original owner. All were heavy smokers so please note that both items have a tobacco smell.
