Carl Zeiss Jena 7x50H Kriegsmarine Binoculars 7x50H KM 7 x 50 Porro 2 Prims
Here we have the venerable Zeiss 7x50H (special design with only two prisms per side) binoculars. The prisms of the right side have been attended to to minimize the optical effect of a pair of small chips. These are the first truly modern binoculars, encorporating the legendary Zeiss T coating on all air-glass surfaces (which are few) and with a revolutionary and perspicuous attention to light loss and stray light control, whereby all of the ocular excepting the outermost lens is continuous with the prism cluster. This and the coatings assured that the H were the brightest binoculars ever produced at this aperture: which they likely remained until decades after the Second World War. These glasses were made in limited numbers and difficult to obtain, particularly with unobliterated markings. The 7x50H is one of the Great Zeiss binoculars, especially since it was first on so many scores. A must have for the serious collector whether of optics or of WK2 militaria.
